About Wilson
Personal Profile (Wilson A) Wilson is currently working as an experienced Teacher and Tutor in subjects as varied as Mathematics (including Numeracy and Functional Skills), Sciences (Physics/Chemistry/Biology), English Language (including Literacy) with Fleet Tutors/ Winchmore Tutors, TLTP and other providers of Alternative and Supplementary Education. Wilson worked with Gable Hall School in Thurrock as specialist mathematics teacher after working as Mathematics and Science subjects specialist teacher at Eastbrook Comprehensive School in Dagenham. Prior to this, he worked as a Mathematics teacher at Rainham School for Girls and as a Mathematics teacher at the Brentwood County High School. Wilson has been teaching English Language across KS2 (Primary) to GCSE amongst his teaching subjects since January 2016 when he started Tutoring. He was previously a Mathematics and Numeracy teacher at the Basildon Academies (Upper and Lower). He started his teaching career as a Science teacher with special strength in teaching Physics and Chemistry. He later trained through the GTP programme and qualified in Secondary Mathematics with QTS, and as a result of the quality of his work he was awarded a PGCE in teaching and learning (Assessment and Context of Learning) by the partnering university – Edge Hill University. Wilson has brought into teaching his wide experience in the industrial sector, having been in the chemical process industry for several years. His teaching always contains a ‘real world’ element, thereby exposing his students to the functional aspects of their learning. He makes subjects ‘real’ to capture the interest of his students in both Science and Maths, extending their achievement in both subjects. Wilson is highly computer literate, with a Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science and a Master’s degree in Internet and Multimedia Engineering. He has the ability to teach Physics and Mathematics with clarity, across the key stages, deploying appropriate software programmes to enhance his teaching and his students’ learning. He is additionally able to support students with the maths and English entrance exams at 7/8+ and 11+.and 13+. Wilson is a great team builder, motivator, and his core education philosophy is that excellent teaching should always be at the heart of rapid progression in attainment. He also strongly believes that behaviour for learning accompanied by assessment for learning are powerful tools with exciting and engaging teaching which direct the students focus towards their learning.
