With nearly 12 years experience in teaching I have a proven record of raising achievement in GCSE and A Level Mathematics. I improved one of Redbridge’s school results by 20%. I volunteered to give extra Saturday and Sunday school lessons to very disadvantaged students expected to get grade 1 in maths. I taught them for six months and they all got grade 4 and some secured grade 5. This shows my commitment to empowering students and my ability to raise achievement. As I helped these students, I want to help other students achieve even more in maths at GCSE and A Level. To begin with I always identify knowledge gaps to promote deep long lasting learning, starting with fundamental concepts then moving onto advanced concepts and questions types, so students can answer any question with confidence. Mathematics is a subject that requires practice; breaking down questions to make sure students understand what the question is asking is vital, so I specialise in this area of teaching and learning to raise achievement.
