Hello, my name is John. I am from the UK. I have over 40 years of experience in Engineering, and more than 20 years of teaching and training behind me. I believe you will find this experience advantageous to you. I have so far helped many students in their English journey on Preply and in the classroom. I am passionate about teaching. I have taught in the classroom for many years and online over the past year or more. I combined a full-time career in business with part-time classroom teaching. I look forward to using my skills and experiences with you and hope to have the opportunity to speak with you further about how I can be an asset to your learning. I started my teaching career as a software trainer more than 20 years ago. I travelled the world in that career. A few years later I formalised my teaching qualifications and started to teach Adults in evening classes. I taught software use (Microsoft Office and others) and Maths and English as functional skills. I like to use many formats for teaching. Video, audio, conversation, and role play to name but four. Subject matter can be about social media and its dominance on our lives to listening to Queen songs and finding the missing words. It is important to have fun whilst learning and I try to give my students enjoyable lessons. I would like you to book a lesson with me (and more afterwards) – but that decision is yours. I can say that I will try my very best for you. I will try to help you improve your English. We will journey your road together (if you choose to continue with me) and I will help you as much as I can. My role is not just to teach you, it is to guide you, encourage you and motivate you to succeed. I have the easier part; your part is the harder one.
